63rd IAA Cars: metal-working and electrical industries’ "Info-Mobile”
IAA infobus: all aboard the careers of tomorrow!
Frankfurt am Main, 19 August 2009. Knowledge and innovation, creativity and smart brains - these are the resources that bring a country short on raw materials, like Germany, crucial advantages over its competitors. And the automotive industry in particular - as a key industrial sector in Germany - will always need to attract young people with the right qualifications.
Anyone visiting the 63rd International Motor Show (IAA) Cars who is interested in a future career in the automotive industry will find the right people to talk to and excellent first-hand information.
This year again the employers' association Gesamtmetall is present with its traditional "Info-Mobile." The silver-colored articulated bus is nearly 18 meters in length, making it probably the "longest career presentation in the world" and an ideal source of information on vocational training and career options in the metal-working and electrical industries. Six multimedia terminals will provide information about the companies in Germany's largest branch of industry: everything from A to Z about the sectors with their commercial and technical training courses. A multimedia show takes visitors into the world of work in the metal-working and electrical industries. Young people just about to finish school and chose a career will be especially interested in an extensive database containing the addresses of companies in the metal-working and electrical industries along with information on the training they offer and the names of contact persons.
Two machine tools show the visitors modern forms of metal-working - computer-controlled turning and milling. Furthermore, a model of a pneumatic assembly line will simulate the workflows in automated production. But visitors can do more than obtain information - they can have a go themselves and try their hand at working on a metal cube on the CNC machine (under the watchful eye of an expert instructor).
During the IAA the "Info-Mobile" will be located on the open-air site, Stand F309, to the south of Hall 5.
The 63rd IAA Cars, organized by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), will be attended by around 700 exhibitors from over 40 countries showcasing the latest highlights and trends in the automotive industry.
