Turkey, a commercial vehicle location, is open for co-operative projects
IAA Turkey Day 2010 on 27 September in Hannover
Berlin, 18 August 2010. Due to its strong economic growth over recent decades, Turkey has established itself as an excellent automotive location between Europe and Asia. In the first half of this year 103,000 commercial vehicles were sold in the country, which represents year-on-year growth of 11 per cent. Turkey is also gaining in significance as a manufacturing country. The volume of commercial vehicles produced has almost trebled in the last ten years. There will be 129 Turkish companies exhibiting at the 63rd IAA Commercial Vehicles 2010, which will run in Hannover from 23 to 30 September. This is far more than we had two years ago, and the largest foreign contingent at this IAA.
The opportunities arising from the increasing importance of the Turkish automotive market for German-Turkish co-operation are the focus of the IAA Turkey Day 2010 at the IAA Commercial Vehicles. This event is organised jointly by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and Taysad, the Turkish association of automotive parts and components manufacturers, and supported by the Türk-Alman Business Center/Hannoverimpuls. The main topics will be the development of the Turkish commercial vehicle market, the investment climate in Turkey, and purchasing and cooperation possibilities involving Turkish suppliers. Presentations will be given by representatives of German and Turkish companies, and of the investment promotion agency Invest in Turkey. There will then be an opportunity for discussions with representatives of Turkish supply companies.
The event is aimed in particular at suppliers who are interested in Turkey as an automotive market and in co-operating with Turkish manufacturers and suppliers. The co-operation discussions among all the registered trade participants will be co-ordinated in advance by the VDA.
The IAA Turkey Day will be held on Monday, 27 September 2010 from 10.00 to 14.00 h, at the IAA Commercial Vehicles, in Room 3A of the Convention Center on the Hannover trade show grounds. The conference languages will be Turkish and German, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Journalists and trade representatives may register online, at: http://www.iaa.de/index.php?id=10-a-fv14&L=1. Information is available from Angela Mans at the VDA, email: mans@vda.de.
