GoIng 2011
The industry’s powerful ability to innovate depends largely on the qualifications of the persons employed in the companies. This applies equally to manufacturers and suppliers within the automotive industry. It is therefore becoming increasingly important to focus on technical and scientific studies and on the number of graduates in these subjects from colleges and universities. To this end, since 2007 the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has held annual Information Days at the International Motor Show (IAA) for youngsters in their final years at grammar school, to provide them with clear, practical information about degree courses in engineering and the work that engineers do, and about their career prospects. So far more than 1,000 schoolchildren have visited GoIng at the IAA. The Information Days comprises talks by representatives from industry and universities, and a tour of company stands at the trade show.
