The IAA is the world´s most comprehensive show for the whole industry, which makes it the international platform for all those who develop, manufacture or use commercial vehicles. The IAA presents both light and heavy trucks, vans and buses, trailers and bodies for the most varied transport purposes, suppliers of equipment for workshops and garages, and parts and accessories. A special feature of the IAA is the large presence of makers of parts and accessories: 965 exhibitors from the supply industry will be presenting their products. Then there are also the logistics suppliers, publishers and service providers, authorities and associations.

- 1,751exhibitors, 55 % of which came from abroad, from 43 countries
- 965 manufactures of parts and accessories
- 176,500 (net) sqm of exhibition space
- 2,185 journalists from 54 countries
- 241,500 visitors
- 84 % of which are professional visitors
- 33 % of the professional visitors were from the automotive-industry
- 76,5 % of the professional visitors had decision-making powers
- 90 % of the professional visitiors from abroad had decision-making powers
- 92 % of the professional visitors will probably be again to Hanover in 2012
