Transport policy – A relevant topic involving everyone
The department coordinates transport-policy lobbying for the automotive industry. The central issue here is the advocacy of optimal framework conditions for a sustainable transport system. This includes lobbying for needs-based investment in the road network and the optimal utilization of the network through telematics applications. Of central importance is also the establishment of a regulatory framework, in which every mode can utilize and expand its strengths and simultaneously enable a smooth combination of modes. Emphasis is also placed on affordable mobility for everyone and preventing a further increase in mobility costs. Another priority is traffic safety. Furthermore, the department offers a platform to discuss issues relating to transport logistics and the quality assurance of transportation.
