Economic and climate protection policy – Optimizing through competence
The Economics and Strategy Department concerns itself with central topics of our economy and develops targeted strategies based on this knowledge for optimizing business processes. Thus, dissonances affecting the automotive industry can be determined by scrutinizing all of the individual economic sectors of a country in relation to other countries and itself. The Economics and Strategy department develops trendsetting concepts based on professional analyses, from which the automotive industry and thus all VDA members profit within the context of the overall economy.
Since December 2016 the VDA has been in partnership with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), as part of as partnership program run by sequa gGmbH, a German organization that implements development projects. This joint project is being promoted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for an initial period of three years, and deepens the cooperation between the three sector associations, which has been successfully built up over the years. The partnership program focuses not only on established cooperation formats such as the “IAA India Day” and the “Indo-German Working Group on Automotive” but also on interaction with India as an important market of the future.
