    Topics of the department

TheStrategy, Political Affairs & Policy Issues team monitors and evaluates the social and political discussions relevant to the automotive industry. Initiatives of all kinds, civil society discussions, and government action at the federal and state levels are closely monitored so that positions, assessments, and analyses of the association can be introduced into the political process at an early stage. We are the first point of contact for all relevant players and coordinate strategic positioning on the industry's core issues vis-à-vis policymakers and civil society. Open and forward-looking sociopolitical exchange is a core concern of the association and its members. We also track and analyze long-term social trends of particular relevance to the automotive industry. These include, in particular, issues relating to industrial and digital strategy. In addition, the department strategically monitors European and international developments.
