This non-binding recommendation by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has the following objectives:
• Standardised RFID usage for tracking parts and components in the Vehicle Development process
• Standardisation of data to be stored to RFID transponders
• Definition of requirements for usage and application of RFID transponders
• Standardised electronic data transfer for exchanging prototype part information
