Forum Automotive Logistics in Leipzig on 3 and 4 February 2015
The “Forum Automotive Logistics” will be held in Leipzig on 3 and 4 February 2015, with the slogan “Intelligent supply chain management – global, transparent, efficient”. The event is being organised by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and the German Logistics Association (BVL) at the Congress Center, Leipzig Trade Fair, Messe-Allee 1, D-04356 Leipzig. Speakers such as Siegfried Bülow – Chairman of the Board of Porsche Leipzig, BVL Chairman Prof. Raimund Klinkner, VDA President Matthias Wissmann and Mercedes-AMG Executive Director Christian Wolff make the Forum Automotive Logistics a very special start to the year for logistics experts. The venue in the automotive city of Leipzig is the Congress Center on the trade fair grounds. Around 500 participants are expected, making the Forum into Europe’s most important meeting in the automotive logistics industry.
At the joint VDA and BVL event, logistics experts from vehicle manufacturers and suppliers will reveal insights into their best practices and experience, touching on areas such as the challenges facing automotive logistics providers as their supply chains become globalised. In the parallel lecture series the attendees can also obtain information on how to make intercontinental flows of goods transparent, or what the best possible packaging in global networks should be like. Sustainability and efficiency are also among the topics covered in the specialist lectures and discussions. The lecture programmes on the second day will include the subjects of IT, qualification and knowledge management in automotive logistics.
The VDA Logistics Award 2015 will be presented in the evening on the first day of the Forum. The evening event will be hosted by Porsche Leipzig. The concept winning the VDA Logistics Award 2015 will be presented at the Forum itself on 4 February. There is no extra charge for Forum participants who wish to attend the award ceremony.
Insights into actual practice can be gained during three site visits for the participants – they can choose between the BMW plant, the DB Schenker logistics centre and the Porsche factory.
