Online press accreditation for the IAA kicks off

Berlin, 01 July 2015

66th IAA Cars in Frankfurt am Main: journalists can register from now on

Starting immediately, journalists can obtain accreditation online for the 66th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars that will be held in Frankfurt am Main from September 17 to 27, 2015, under the slogan “Mobility connects.” The Press Days will take place on September 15 and 16. The accreditation portal can be accessed from the Press Room section of the IAA website, at: http://www.iaa.de/en/press-room/accreditation/.

IAA press tickets will be issued only to holders of a valid press ID. The VDA will check and approve the applications. Accreditation in advance of the IAA is only possible online. Once the documents have been checked by the VDA accreditation team, journalists will receive their press ticket and, if applicable, their parking permit by e-mail. Online accreditation will terminate on September 11, 2015.

Press accreditation is possible at the Frankfurt trade fair, starting on Monday, September 14, 2015, from 9.30 to 18.00 h in the IAA Press Center (in the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt – CMF). On September 14 the IAA exhibition site itself is not yet open to representatives of the media.

On the IAA Press Days – Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16, 2015, (08.00 to 19.00 h on both days) – journalists can obtain accreditation either in the CMF or at the entrances named City, Torhaus (at Messe railroad station) and Portalhaus. The main accreditation point will be located at the Portalhaus Entrance, which is served by a shuttle bus from the Rebstock parking lot. This also applies on the Trade Days – Thursday, September 17, and Friday, September 18, 2015.

On the Public Days – Saturday, September 19, to Sunday, September 27, 2015 – accreditation will be possible in the CMF only.

On the day before the first Press Day (i.e. Monday, September 14, 2015) the IAA’s opening press conference will be held in the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt. VDA President Matthias Wissmann and VDA Managing Director Klaus Bräunig will provide information about the highlights at the IAA.

The exhibitors’ press conferences will begin at 8.30 h both on Tuesday, September 15, and on Wednesday, September 16. An overview of all the press conferences will be available from July 2 at: http://www.iaa.de/en/press-room/pressetermine/press-conferences/.

This year again, the official App for the 66th IAA Cars for iOS (iPhone® and iPad®) and Android will be available cost-free from mid-August. It will offer the IAA 2015 exhibitors’ directory with contact details, plus a plan of the exhibition grounds (including a route planner) with data about the exhibitors’ booths, a product search, detailed exhibitor information and a function for bookmarking exhibitors and events.
