The “Forum Automotive Logistics” will take place with the slogan “Smart instead of reactive – on the path to digital dimensions” in Bremen on February 14 and 15, 2017. The event is being organized by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and the German Logistics Association (BVL) at the Mercedes-Benz Customer Centre in Bremen (Im Holter Feld, 28309 Bremen). The speakers will include Bremen’s mayor Carsten Sieling, BLG Logistics Group Chairman Frank Dreeke, Site Manager of Mercedes-Benz’ Bremen plant Peter Theurer, BVL Chairman Prof. Raimund Klinkner, and VDA President Matthias Wissmann. Logistics experts from automotive manufacturers and suppliers, business consultants and academics will be present at the numerous lectures and discussions to give an insight into practical experience and the latest scientific findings. The topics will include Big Data in logistics, the changes in logistics jobs, lighthouse projects in digitization, and autonomous logistics.
The VDA Logistics Award 2017 will be presented in the evening of the forum’s first day. This event will be held at Mercedes-Benz in Bremen. The concept that receives the VDA Logistics Award 2017 will be highlighted at the forum on February 15. Participants at the forum may attend the award ceremony free of charge.
Three site visits offer further insights into actual practice: the program includes the production halls of Mercedes-Benz’ Bremen plant, the BLG auto terminal in Bremerhaven and the DB Cargo Logistics auto terminal in Bremen.
