Andreas Renschler new chairman of VDA's Commercial Vehicles Board Group

Berlin, 14 November 2017

Andreas Renschler – CEO of Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH, and, since 1 February 2015, Volkswagen’s Management Board Member in charge of commercial vehicles – has been elected to serve as the new chairman of the Commercial Vehicles Board Group at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). He takes over from Martin Daum, the Daimler AG Management Board member responsible for Daimler’s Trucks and Buses Divisions. Mr. Renschler has already held the position of chairman in the Commercial Vehicles Board Group, namely in the period from October 2004 to June 2013, and has been a member of the Commercial Vehicles Board Group since March 2015.

VDA President Matthias Wissman thanked Martin Daum for his dedicated service as chairman of the Board Group and welcomed Andreas Renschler, saying that one of the commercial vehicle industry's high flyers was now at the helm.

Stefan E. Buchner, Head of Daimler Trucks and responsible for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, is a new appointment to VDA’s Commercial Vehicles Board Group. Together with Volker Mornhinweg who heads up Mercedes-Benz Vans, he represents the Daimler Group.

The Commercial Vehicles Board Group is the VDA's high-level steering committee for all matters concerning the commercial vehicle industry. Its members come from the vehicle manufacturing industry and from the trailer and body industry. Convening several times a year, this Board Group formulates joint position papers for this branch of industry.
