New platform for exchanging information between automotive industry, the digital economy and startups: VDA’s first-ever New Mobility World Digital Days in Berlin on June 27 and 28
In the future, automated and connected driving, car sharing and multi-modal transport platforms will be key features of urban mobility. The next generation of cars will be more connected than ever before, and this will be accompanied by rising customer demands concerning comfort, the range of functions and digital services. As the transformation becomes faster and more complex, it will be important to remain the pacemakers. To this end, a frank dialog, cooperation based on trust with innovative companies, and openness will be important elements in the automotive supply chains of the future.
The New Mobility World Digital Days represent another platform provided by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) for sharing ideas at all levels in the automotive industry and forcing the digital economy. Since 2016 it has been easier for new digital companies to join the VDA and make use of the association’s varied offers.
This new VDA event will be held for the first time in Berlin on June 27 and 28, 2018. It will be attended by experts from the automotive industry and representatives of the digital economy, who will discuss the future of mobility, automotive business models and smart factories.
VDA President Bernhard Mattes will open the New Mobility World Digital Days. Luigi Ardito, Director of Government Affairs at Qualcomm, will deliver the keynote speech. Representatives of Continental, door2door, EBK-Krüger, SUSI&James and the IFA Group will then hold a discussion entitled “Race boat vs. Tanker” covering cultural aspects of cooperation between startups and industrial companies. The second congress day will be opened by Falk Bothe, manager of Volkswagen’s Digital Transformation Office. Workshops will follow on the subjects of digital business models for the automotive industry, smart factories, cyber security and vehicle data access. Each workshop will be organized by companies in the automotive industry, the digital industry and startups.
The event will take place in Haus Ungarn, Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse 9, 10178 Berlin, on June 27 and 28, 2018. You will find further information, the program and the registration process here.
