Dr. Dieter Zetsche thanked for almost 13 years of dedicated work on the VDA’s Presiding and Managing Boards
Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG and member of the VDA’s Managing Board since June 2015, has been elected to serve as Vice-president for Manufacturer Group I on the Presiding Board of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). He thus succeeds Dr. Dieter Zetsche, former Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG, who has represented the vehicle manufacturers on this body until now. Ola Källenius has been newly elected to the VDA’s Managing Board to succeed Dr. Zetsche in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler AG.
Dr. Zetsche was elected to the VDA’s Managing and Presiding Boards in November 2006, and from 2008 he served as Vice-president of the VDA. VDA President Bernhard Mattes thanked Dr. Zetsche for almost 13 years of work on the Presiding and Managing Boards, which was characterized by high levels of dedication and trust, and stressed: “Dr. Zetsche has successfully managed and steered a large German automotive group over a long period. Furthermore, he has supported the VDA’s activities on both the Presiding Board and the Managing Board with great commitment. His vast experience, his leadership and his exceptional willingness to enter into dialog with politicians, society and industry left their mark on the work of the association.” Mattes also drew attention to Dr. Zetsche’s hard work for the automotive industry at European level – as President of the European umbrella organization ACEA.
