A new face in the Press Department of the German Association of the Automotive Industry as of November 1, 2019
Nikolaus Doll (51), senior editor and business correspondent at WeltN24 GmbH, Berlin, will join the Press Department at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) on November 1, 2019. He will take over the duties currently performed by Sandra Courant, who is leaving the VDA after ten years to take up a new post at Lufthansa AG.
VDA President Bernhard Mattes stressed, “Nikolaus Doll is one of Germany’s top business journalists. The fact that he is joining the VDA demonstrates how attractive the association is, particularly during the period of transformation which the entire sector is going through. Mr. Doll is already very familiar with the automotive industry – the manufacturers and the suppliers – from his previous positions, and is exceptionally well connected. In addition to his excellent writing style, he brings to the job strategic thinking, a talent for rapid implementation, leadership experience and digital expertise, which will be a great asset for the association’s press work.”
Nikolaus Doll gained a master’s degree in history, political science and German from the University of Heidelberg, after which he completed a traineeship as a newspaper editor. For the last 20 years he has been working for the WELT-Gruppe, with a focus on the automotive industry for more than ten years. He has gathered international experience working as an editor for Welt Online in Sydney (Australia) and San Francisco (US).
