“The preparations for the world’s most important automotive trade fair, the 65th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars in Frankfurt, have been running at full speed for many weeks now. In addition to numerous world premieres, the innovations will focus on electric mobility and networked driving. However, marked progress will also be visible in the optimisation of classical drive trains, petrol engines and clean diesels. The IAA is more than a trade fair – it is ‘the most automobile show in the world’,” stressed Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). At the same time he was drawing attention to the new claim of the IAA, which is the slogan of this year’s IAA.
“Both the key visual and the claim stand for a new quality of the IAA: it is not only a trade fair, but the most important international meeting point for the automotive world. The IAA is a genuine event: here the new models are not only on display, they are presented in an impressive setting. The automotive future really can be experienced at the IAA,” Wissmann underlined.
The key visual of the IAA Cars does justice to the positioning of the trade fair as an event. It shows a car on a revolving stage for dynamic presentation – as is common at many IAA exhibitor stands – to display its special features to the public. The transparency of the model emphasises topics of innovation such as lightweight construction, efficiency, new materials, networking and IT in the vehicle. The colour blue continues the tradition of International Motor Shows in recent years and symbolises sustainability, technology and the future.
The claim also underlines the nature of the IAA as an event: the IAA is not only a vehicle exhibition, but a unique, elaborately staged and fascinating event for the visitors. The marketing-oriented superlative makes a reference to this: nothing is more automobile than the IAA in Frankfurt.
The 65th IAA Cars will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 12 to 22 September 2013, preceded by two Press Days (10 and 11 September 2013). The IAA will be opened on 12 September by the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
