Dr Wolfgang Bernhard, who has been on the Management Board of Daimler AG since 18 February 2010 and in this capacity Head of Daimler Trucks Division since 1 April 2013, was today elected chairman of the Board Group Commercial Vehicles at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). He takes over from Andreas Renschler, who chaired the Board Group Commercial Vehicles from 2005. Since 1 October 2004 Mr Renschler has been a member of the Management Board at Daimler AG and in this capacity he has been responsible for Manufacturing and Procurement Mercedes-Benz and the entire business unit Mercedes-Benz Vans since 1 April 2013. VDA President Matthias Wissmann thanked Mr Renschler for his many years of dedicated work as chair of the Board Group Commercial Vehicles and his huge commitment to the German commercial vehicle industry.
The Board Group Commercial Vehicles is the high-level steering body within the VDA for all questions relating to the commercial vehicle industry. Its members include representatives of the vehicle manufacturers and of the companies in the trailer and body industry. The Board Group meets several times a year to formulate the industry’s common political positions.
