Starting immediately, journalists from all over the world can register online for the 65th International Motor Show (IAA) Cars. This year the exhibition will be held in Frankfurt am Main, opening its doors to the international public from 12 to 22 September. The Press Days will be on 10 and 11 September. The links for online accreditation can be found in the press section of the IAA website: http://www.iaa.de/en/press-room/akkreditierung/akkreditierung/.
Journalists require valid press ID to obtain an IAA press pass. Their credentials are checked and accreditations are issued by the VDA. The following closing dates apply to applications for IAA press passes to be posted to an editorial office or private address: 23 August 2013 for applications from overseas and Italy, 30 August 2013 for applications from Europe (except Italy), and 2 September 2013 for applications from Germany. If an application for accreditation arrives after the relevant deadline, the IAA press pass may be collected from the IAA Press Centre in the Congress Center Messe Frankfurt (CMF), on Monday, 9 September 2013, between 9.30 h and 18.00 h. Media representatives have no access to the actual IAA trade fair grounds on 9 September.
On the Press Days – Tuesday, 10 September, and Wednesday, 11 September 2013 (from 08.00 h to 19.00 h) – journalists may use the CMF and the following entrances for access for accreditation: “City,” “Torhaus” (at railway station “Messe”) and “Portalhaus” at the West Gate. The main accreditation point will be located at the “Portalhaus” entrance, which can be reached by taking the shuttle bus from the “Rebstock” car park. These entrances should also be used on the Trade Days – Thursday, 12 September, and Friday, 13 September 2013.
On the Public Days – Saturday, 14 September, to Sunday, 22 September 2013 – accreditation will be available only in the CMF. Journalists without accreditation who enter the trade fair grounds through a different entrance are requested to purchase an IAA visitor ticket. The cost of this admission ticket will be refunded in the CMF upon production of valid press ID and personal ID.
Workstations for journalists will be available at the IAA Press Centre in the CMF, complete with printers, fax machines, and both W-LAN and broadband Internet connections for laptops. The IAA exhibitors’ press conferences will start at 8.30 h on Tuesday, 10 September 2013. An overview of all the press conferences will soon be available in the press section of the IAA website (http://www.iaa.de/en/press-room/).
