Mobile exhibition: IAA 2013 has smartphone app and Facebook page

Berlin, 19 August 2013

It’s easy to go mobile at the “world’s most automobile show”: the official IAA App is ideal for visits to the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main.

The interactive exhibition guide provides an overview of favoured exhibitors and events, and has the option of creating personal lists that can be generated as PDF documents and downloaded, printed out and sent and by email. In addition, the app enables users to create a personal walking tour: the locations of the exhibitors are shown on a map of the trade show grounds, and the route is calculated based on an exhibitor search, map click or GPS. A zoom function makes it easier to find your way around on the site – which covers a good 230,000 square metres. The note function or the voice memo can be used to save appointments and jot down information quickly so it does not get lost. The camera and video functions allow special impressions to be captured simply and easily. Users can also share them with friends and acquaintances directly via Facebook or Twitter.

In addition to this, the latest press releases about the IAA are shown in the newsfeed on the app’s start screen. With a simple click you can call the VDA’s Press Office or send the team an email.

The mobile app for iPhones or iOS tablets is now available in German and English for downloading from the App Store free of charge. Android users can obtain it via Google play. For all other mobile devices, the IAA Cars App is available as a web app from the IAA homepage:  www.iaa.de.

Even more information can be found on the IAA’s Facebook page. So far the IAA Cars has over 30,000 Likes – which means that for the first time it has more Fans than the Paris Motor Show. The Fan page offers Facebook users current information, interactive functions, and exhibitors’ news for this year‘s show, plus a virtual tour through the world’s most important and traditional automotive show using historical images and posters. Users can also send in questions directly, which will be answered promptly via Facebook. Furthermore, Fans of the IAA page will be among the first people to be informed of interesting raffles related to the IAA.

Anyone who is on Facebook, and would like to become a Fan of the world’s most important trade fair for mobility, can access the IAA page on: https://www.facebook.com/IAAPKW#!/IAAPKW

The 65th IAA Cars will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 12 to 22 September 2013. All the information about the exhibition, e.g. the special shows, opening times and advance ticket sales, is available on the Internet, on the official IAA website: www.iaa.de.
