Foreign Trade

Access to foreign markets is essential for companies in the automotive industry. Apart from the US market, growth mostly took place in the markets outside the triad countries in Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America and other threshold countries with rising levels of motorization.

Foreign Trade Fairs

The VDA supports its members in foreign markets with attractive offers for participation in foreign trade fairs. Even in difficult COVID-19 times, the foreign trade fair program of the German Federal Government will be continued and trade fair participations will be offered for 2021. Given the current circumstances, there will be changes, such as free cancellation options. In order to offer joint German stands at selected trade fairs, the VDA applied in cooperation with AUMA and other trade associations for funding in 2020. Participation in a joint stand is financially supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. With the support of a professional company the organization and the administration of a joint participation will be simplified. The VDA supports the trade fair presence on site and accompanies with activities such as press conferences or B2B meetings.

The next trade fair will take place in January: together with BITKOM and ZVEI there will be a German Pavilion at CES, the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas (6-9 January 2021). If you would like to participate with a small "information center" (Link:, participation is possible for 1680.00 € (800.00 € for the IZ with 2 square metres and 880.00 € registration fee for CES). Please find further information about the fair here:

Further joint participations are offered for the following fairs: Auto Shanghai, Seoul Motor Show, AUTOMEC (Brazil), ECOMOTION in Israel and Tokyo Motor Show.
