VDA recommendations for the revision of the EPBD ( Energy Performance of Buildings)

To effectively support the required ramp up of electromobility, a binding, rapid and comprehensive expansion of the charging infrastructure is essential. Currently, around 85 percent of all charging processes take place at private charging points. Therefore, infrastructure specifications for sustainable mobility in private, public and commercial buildings play an important role in the successful transformation of mobility . The current revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) takes this into account and sets the framework for the development of non-public charging infrastructure in Europe. The German automotive industry welcomes the fact that the Europan Commission is now pursuing more ambitious goals than in the existing EPBD, nevertheless further improvements are still needed.
